Redemptive Stories Are Nothing New...But Yours IS!
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
"I'm sorry, God! If you will give me ONE MORE CHANCE, I promise...!"
In one way or another, we have all "been there, said that."
Stemming from feeling guilty about sinning against God, those words are often ones spoken after realizing we are not operating in accordance with God's will for our lives. Then, the enemy comes to attack by using our thoughts to further condemn us.
There is, however, some AMAZING news! We serve a forgiving God! Continual sin coupled with false repentance pain Him, though. We're not a perfect people. We will commit sin. God's heart will be broken time and again (even after sincere repentance). Even then, it's not too late for God to do wondrous works through us.
Consider Moses. He committed MURDER before God chose him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.
Consider David. He committed ADULTERY and had his mistress' husband killed, yet God chose him to slay Goliath.
Consider Paul. He was a great PERSECUTOR of Christians before he was called to be God's Apostle.
Each man blatantly disobeyed the laws of God. Each man ALSO repented and were used for God's glory!
Take this time to show the enemy you are DONE playing his dastardly and manipulative games! Where has God brought you from? What did you go THROUGH to get TO? Scripture reminds us that "ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).
So, the next time the enemy of our souls reminds us of our sins, REMIND HIM:
"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me" (Galatians 2:20).
